Ran into an issue with Bitcoin amount being too many decimals

So on cash app, I tried to send the amount listed on the email and confirmation page. The issue is the amount had 9 decimal places and Cash App only accepts 8. So I'm pretty stumped here, don't want to over or under pay. Should I try to resubmit the order? Or round up?

  • Does the confirmation page btc have the same amount of numerals as the email? Asking because I had same issue and the email had an extra number while the confirmation page had the correct number of numerals so I went with confirmation page and it was fine.

  • I believe they were the same, like 99% sure I tried both amounts. So what I did was round up and sent it, ended up being like a penny more lol. Not sure if that messes up, but got the payment confirmation email

  • @CJM That last decimal place shouldn't matter too much, if your order is a few cents off it will still end up being processed normally either way.

That is unless bitcoin goes crazy and hits a million dollars a coin or something, then it might matter haha.

  • @medboy Awesome and thank you so much for confirming! I figured this cropped up since it's the first time I've ordered since Bitcoin hit 100k. Appreciate the help!!
