  • Is marijuana legalization about to go federal? Congressional leaders took the massive and potentially historic first step on Friday, when they introduced the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement Act of 2021, or “The MORE Act of 2021”.

It might sound good that scientists are going to research cannabis, but follow the money and they will always give the results that the funding agency wants to hear. $cience is not science. There is no such thing as independent science anymore. No studies are ever reproduced and verified anymore. When I get accused of being anti-science, I want to scream at them and tell them that they know absolutely nothing about science! Because no one does anymore. It has turned into just another religion used to control people.

Being anti-science today means that some have a problem in having blind faith that the scientists getting paid billions of dollars are unbiased and can never be corrupted by the usual corrupt trillionaires who are looking to get even more money and power.

Only morons are not "anti-science" by today's standards.

We already fucking know that cannabis is good for us. We don't need permission or verification from any authority, thank you very little.

I guarantee these studies are not going to end up with the desirable outcomes that we want. They'll end up developing synthetic versions to prescribe. Government and big pharma will buy up all the patents and keep the really great discovered research a secret forever.

They don't need to control and regulate through legalization. They need to decriminalize and pretend it doesn't exist at all. Government should care about cannabis as much as they care about ferns and dandelions.

But they'll never give up their monopoly on power and money until people stop voting and their power disintegrates because no one believes in their right to exist.

  • @Sixwaychili don't hold back now. Tell us how you really feel😜

  • @tdk329 Vermin Supreme would be a great pick also, but I digress.....

This thread is for news articles related to grass, not politics. As I understand the rules of the forum, we're supposed to avoid political discussions.

  • @TreesPlz Yes, please.

  • So once a month this discussion board has its time to shine. I get annoyed at the lobbyists pushing for controlling how much THC can exist in a plant. Not going to post a news article but I did want to make a point about how you share news articles. Be sure to link in a way that doesn't make them money or give them more attention and influence/ spread.

  • My apology....I am just a SURVIVOR from way back in the 60's who often feels constrained by RULES...SORRY !!

  • @katy frankenshot was funny.

I am not political whatsoever. I hate everyone who wants to control every aspect of my life, which is all of government and all politicians. The main problem in politics is that anyone and everyone who desires to get into it or stays in it after they see what it's like is the wrong person for the job. All while making sure that the peasants argue and fight each other forever instead of uniting and saying get the fuck out and never come back. Choosing between communism and fascism is not a choice, but idiots are ready to go to war over it.

Instead how about a choice between freedom and totalitarian government?

The only people that anyone should hate are those in power. Because that's the only valid division of people. Everything else is a ridiculously bad result of divide and conquer tactics that have been going on for thousands of years.

The haves have not a fucking clue.

  • Maybe we should have forum for politics...so I can ignore it.

  • @Good2Go "Maybe we should have forum for politics...so I can ignore it." I second this

  • I choose indica

Amazon will no longer test many prospective employees for marijuana use prior to employment, as more states where the company operates continue to legalize the plant.

In a blog post Tuesday, Amazon CEO Dave Clark said applicants for positions that are not regulated by the Department of Transportation — meaning those that do not require driving — will not be screened for cannabis. Instead, the company will treat the substance like alcohol, doing impairment checks on the job and testing after any incident.

“In the past, like many employers, we’ve disqualified people from working at Amazon if they tested positive for marijuana use. However, given where state laws are moving across the U.S., we’ve changed course,” Clark wrote.

therefore, anyone who tests positive for cannabis use in the last 30 days will be denied every worker's comp claim.

So now, they prefer that everyone smokes so that they never have to pay for workplace injuries.

  • Patients in Louisiana will soon be able to access the raw, smokable form of marijuana after a bill to expand the state's medical cannabis program won final legislative passage Wednesday.
Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards is expected to sign House Bill 391 by Houma Republican House Speaker Pro-tem Tanner Magee into law.
The bill won overwhelming approval in both the House and Senate.
"This is wildly popular in every corner of the state and it's what people want and what people need," Magee has said.
Magee and other advocates of expanding the medical cannabis program said the current products legally available — tinctures, topical creams, gummies and metered-dose inhalers — are too expensive for many patients.
"Most of the products aren't covered by insurance," Magee said. "This is a way to provide a more affordable option.”

  • Shakespeare Smoked Pot
Does marijuana make people dumb or creative? Consider this cannabis fact: there is evidence that Shakespeare, the famous playwright and poet, was a fan of the beautiful green plant. Indeed, forensic technology has revealed marijuana residue in pipes found in his Stratford-upon-Avon garden.
The forensic study used a specialized gas procedure that is known to be extremely sensitive to residue preserved in pipes, even if the residue is hundreds of years old. Of the studied clay “tobacco pipes” that came from Shakespeare’s garden, four of them were found to contain traces of marijuana.
Given the research findings, it is possible that Shakespeare was quite high when he wrote the romantic sonnets and other literary works that are still considered masterpieces by many people. If so, then the connection between creativity and cannabis consumption may just have gotten a bit stronger.
