You will not receive your confirmation email until there are 2 transactions on the blockchain. The blockchains pretty backed up it looks like because of the rise in price.

Yes, we are looking into this. It's not 100% of the time, placing a new order is generally sending out the correct amount. DO NOT try to calculate your own price and sending BTC that doesn't match the order, it will NOT process properly.

I don't know that there's a particularly optimal day for ordering to ensure a faster delivery. Orders placed Friday will not process until Sunday (closed Saturday), which means not processed by the USPS until Monday, so that's something to factor in…
